Bikeability training complete and another chance to take part.....

Congratulations to Alex S, Jamie, Joe, Harvey J and Andrew on successfully completing their Bikeability Level 2 Training. Certificates and badges are on their way.

Special thanks to Karen for giving up her Saturday mornings to be the other adult needed to run the course and for standing patiently by the side of the road acting as a second pair of eyes while the riders practised their U-turns.

Level 2 is a challenging course with a wide syllabus that expects a lot of each rider. Training includes the importance of road positioning as a means of keeping yourself safe on the road, when to signal and other ways of communicating our intentions to other road users and safe U-turns. Students are taught rights of way on the road from a cyclist's perspective and other strategies for keeping themselves safe.

Alex Steward, who'd just completed his and third and final week of road training said,

"Bikeability has made me more confident on the roads. I have learnt how to safely turn right and left, go round roundabouts and change lanes.  I can now go out with my dad on the roads without frightening him half to death!!"
If you missed out on the training and would still like to take part, contact Matt and ask about the Chelmsford Borough Council Level 2 course that will be held on 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th April at Boswells High School between 10am and 12pm.
