We are now two races into the 2011 series. Round 1 at Highlands Park saw a great turnout from CYCC with competitors in the Grommets, Challenger and Warrior catagories. The racing took place along some of our regular Saturday trails including the technical single track at the bottom of the park. Top club result of the day went to Tristan Price who took second place in the Challenger catagory.
Round 2 was held at Thetford Forest on 8th May, again with the same three catagories being represented. The was run in the oposite direction to 2010, still however keeping the drops and adding in a very tough climb from the bombhole. This added to plenty of Thetfords single track in very dry and loose conditions made for some great racing. Joe Pitt took 5th in the challenger section after an unlucky fall during the first lap on that very loose ground. Jordan Beighton worked his way up from behind and took a well deserved 3rd on his new bike.
In the Grommets, Fern Beighton took a 5th place in the girls race and Olly Ford managed second place after a very solid ride thoughout the race.
Remember, there are four races left in the series, it would be fantastic to keep seeing the CYCC shirts on both the start line and on the podium. Dates for the remainder of the series are as follows:

Sunday 24th July, Danbury Outdoors
Sunday 7th August, Codham Park, Braintree
Sunday 18th September, Langdon Hills, Corringham
