A fairly flat course with long exposed sections heading into the wind favoured those with road legs and skinny tyres.
In his first race of the season Tristan Price sped away at the start of the juvenile (U14) race to scrap it out with the youth riders, one of the benefits of running both categories together. Jordan Beighton rode well to come in in second place with Jamie Murphy and Alex Steward finishing in fourth and fifth respectively.
As always, these superb images of our club members racing have been very kindly supplied for reproduction in this blog only by Flying Tigers Studios. For more images which can be purchased visit http://www.flyingtigers.co.uk/

Kurt and Paul Steward flew the flag in the 40 minute vets category, finishing in sixth and seventh place respectively.
The under twelve race provided some real drama as Ollie Ford, on his first outing on a new bike, caught then passed previous winner Josh Peters. Ollie's superior stamina on the flat course over what was a long race really told as he overcame a last lap attack from Josh to take second place just in front in a very exciting finish. The race was won by Chelmer CCs consumate Aaron Freeman.
Eight year old Fern Beighton rode consistently to take fourth in the U12 girls.
Seven year old Toby Price in his first race of the year came in a creditable sixth place.
This was the last of the excellent series of warm up races, it'll be interesting to see how our riders get on in the bigger fields of the MSG races starting on 10 April at Hylands Park.
